Nolan Alvater discusses place-based approaches to the preservation of petroglyphs, oral history, and other cultural heritage in a digital world that is shaped by colonial history and policies of intellectual property. Nolan Altvater, Passamaquoddy from Sipayik, is the Special Projects Coordinator for the Passamaquoddy Cultural Heritage Museum in Motahkomikuk. They are currently an Interdisciplinary studies PhD Student at the University of Maine focusing in Native American Studies.
